"Write Hear! Write Now!" is coming to Barnard Castle, promising a celebration of creativity, storytelling and the written word. Organised by the Barnard Castle Writing Group, Write Hear! Write Now! will bring together writers, readers and aspiring authors for a day of workshops, live readings, lively discussion and the launch of a new book.
The festival aims to celebrate the wealth of literary talent in the local community, offering opportunities for people to share their work, develop their writing skills and discover new voices. Whether an established writer, an enthusiastic reader or someone who has always wanted to put pen to paper, there will be something for everyone.
The day's programme will feature a series of creative writing and poetry workshops, providing inspiration and practical advice for writers at all stages of their journey. An open mic session will give participants the chance to share their poetry, short stories and other original work with a live audience, while a panel discussion will bring writers together to explore ideas, experiences and the joys and challenges of the writing process.
A special highlight of the festival will be a book launch, celebrating the debut fantasy novel by EPS James.
The festival's name, Write Hear! Write Now!, captures its central message: that everyone has a story to tell, every voice deserves to be heard, and there has never been a better time to start writing.
A spokesperson for the Barnard Castle Writing Group said:
"We're delighted to bring Write Hear! Write Now! to Barnard Castle. We want to create a welcoming space where writers and readers can come together, share ideas, learn from one another and celebrate the power of words. Whether you've been writing for years or are just beginning to explore your creativity, we hope this festival will inspire you to write, share your voice and discover something new."
With its mix of practical workshops, performance, discussion and celebration, Write Hear! Write Now! promises to be an exciting addition to the local cultural calendar, putting writing and storytelling firmly in the spotlight.
