Preparations are under way for the traditional Burns Night celebrations at Thorpe Farm Centre on Saturday 24th January. The annual event brings all the Scottish traditions of the night to a candle-lit Courtyard Restaurant.
Accompanied by bagpipes, the haggis will be piped into the room, followed by the original ‘Address to A Haggis’, as penned by Robert Burns. The three-course Burns Night supper includes haggis, neeps and tatties for main, and Tipsy Laird, or Scottish Trifle, for dessert.
Harvey Barkes, of Thorpe Farm Centre, said: “Our Burns Night has become a favourite with many and definitely a memorable night for all. It combines great food and a fabulous welcoming atmosphere with all the Scottish Burns Night traditions. Whether you’re a Scot away from home this Burns Night, familiar with the celebrations or have never experienced it before, you’re welcome at Thorpe Farm on Saturday 24th. Come and raise a dram with us!”
Arrival time for Burns Night at the Courtyard Restaurant is 6.30pm with celebrations beginning at 7pm. Places are limited so booking via the Thorpe Farm Centre website is essential.
