Lanchester residents wake up to flooding across the village.


Residents in the village of Lanchester have woken up to flooding across the village this morning. Photographs posted on social media this morning (Sunday 29th October) show flood water across Front Street, flooding a number of shops, businesses and hosues.


A number of burns are water courses through the village have burst their banks, with the first pictures appearing on social media early on Sunday morning.


The kings head pub was open from mid morning offering refuge and hot drinks. There have been no reports of injuries.



As on lunchtime on Sunday, reports suggested that much of the water had receded and a clean up operation had begun.
