November 22, 2023, marks 60 years since The Beatles performed at the then, Globe Theatre in Stockton-on-Tees with two monumental performances for the band. An undoubtedly iconic day for the town, that happened to coincide with a major event happening on the other side of the world; the day US President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Needless to say, the date would prove to live long in the memories of those who attended.
In celebration of that remarkable day in 1963, Stockton Globe presents Stockton Sings – 60 Years Since The Beatles. Guests of all ages can expect an evening bursting with nostalgia, reminiscent of the evening itself with many much-loved Beatles hits performed by local community ensembles. The venue welcomes the opportunity to entertain visitors both new and returning whilst also celebrating a key period in the venue’s history. The much respected and self-proclaimed Beatles enthusiast Bob Fischer returns to the Globe as compère for the evening, alongside a thoughtful heritage exhibition available to help visitors to take a walk down memory lane once again.
In 1963, Beatlemania was in full force, tickets were understandably in high demand, with tickets starting from just six shillings and six pence. Luckily for the local community, tickets to the upcoming Stockton Sings – 60 Years Since The Beatles on Wednesday 22nd November will be completely free!

“We’re so passionate about making our stage a stage for all; so the opportunity to invite ensembles from across the region to come together and celebrate the music of The Beatles is really special. The ensembles have been tasked with recreating the setlist from that infamous night in 1963 with their very own versions of the individual songs – we can’t wait to hear what they have created. This event is the launch of our ‘Stockton Sings’ initiative which will see a programme of large-scale community singing projects and performances throughout the year. Watch this space!”
