The historic Walworth Castle Hotel will be the site of a unique event this autumn as Kindred Spirit Investigations brings the North East its first-ever Kindred Samhain Festival.
The two-day event, taking place on Saturday, November 1st, and Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, promises an immersive exploration into the paranormal and spiritual worlds.
Organised by Kindred Spirit Investigations, a team recently honoured with Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Award for the second consecutive year, the festival is designed to be a safe, engaging, and educational environment for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. "Our goal is to create an environment where people can explore the supernatural firsthand, learn from experts, and connect with like-minded enthusiasts," said Melanie Clements, Director and Founder of Kindred Spirit Investigations.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a diverse program of workshops, talks, and activities covering everything from ghost hunting and mediumship to witchcraft and UFOs. The festival boasts an impressive line-up of celebrity guest speakers, including Richard Felix from Most Haunted, Neil Storey from Help My House is Haunted, and multi-award-winning psychic medium Barrie John. Other notable speakers include spiritual mediums Les Henderson and Elaine Somerville, technology creator Andy Guy, and professional storyteller Simon Enthwhistle.
The festival’s schedule is packed with intriguing talks. Highlights include Richard Felix's "What is a Ghost?" and "Silica Tape Hypothesis," Neil Storey's "Witchcraft & Murder," and Jay Austin's "Countdown to Disclosure." For those looking for a more hands-on experience, the event offers a range of interactive workshops. Participants can delve into spell casting and candle magic, learn about paranormal equipment, or explore spiritual practices like past life regression and shamanic healing.
Adding to the festival's unique appeal are several special features. On Saturday night, guests can attend a Celebrity Masquerade Ball, which includes a three-course meal, an awards ceremony, and a disco. This offers a rare chance to socialise with the guest speakers in an intimate setting. On Sunday evening, international mediums Les Henderson and Elaine Somerville will host a live Demonstration of Mediumship.
Kindred Spirit Investigations is committed to making the festival accessible, offering a variety of ticket options. Full weekend passes are available, or guests can purchase single-day tickets for stalls and celebrity book signings and then build their own experience by adding workshops for a small fee.
The Kindred Samhain Festival aims to be more than just an event; it's an initiative to build a community and create an annual tradition for the North East. Melanie Clements stated that the festival is not a major profit-making venture, and its success is heavily reliant on community support and promotion.
