In the Park Newcastle Returns in 2027

In the Park Newcastle will return to Exhibition Park next summer for a three-day concert series, with Manchester indie favourites Courteeners announced as the first headliners for 2027, kicking off the series on Thursday 8th July, joined by special guests The Coral and Seb Lowe.

Taking place on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Sunday 11th July, the series will once again bring an exciting line up of major live music to the heart of Newcastle, with more big names still to be announced.

Led by frontman Liam Fray, Courteeners have spent two decades cementing their place as one of the UK’s biggest guitar bands, building a fiercely loyal following with a catalogue of era-defining anthems including ‘Not Nineteen Forever’, ‘Are You In Love With A Notion?’, ‘Modern Love’ and ‘The 17th’.

Since the release of their breakthrough debut album St. Jude in 2008, the band have enjoyed continued chart success across seven studio albums, selling over a million albums in the UK, with their last five releases reaching the Top Five. Their enduring appeal was reaffirmed in 2023 when ‘St. Jude’ topped the UK Albums Chart, fifteen years after its original release.

This year marked a milestone 20 years for the band, celebrated with the release of their career-spanning greatest hits album ‘God Bless The Band’, which reached Number Two in the UK Albums Chart. The celebrations also saw the band return home for a sold-out show at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park.

Renowned for their electrifying live performances and anthemic singalong moments, Courteeners have built a reputation for turning their shows into huge communal celebrations, uniting tens of thousands of fans. Their headline performance at Exhibition Park, alongside special guests The Coral and Seb Lowe, promises to be a standout moment in the return of In the Park Newcastle.

Tickets are expected to sell out. Sign up now for pre-sale access at www.intheparkfestival.com/courteeners. Presale tickets go live at 10am (GMT) on Wednesday 4th November, with general tickets available from 10am (GMT) on Friday 6th November.
