BREAKING: Home Alone and Schitts Creek star Catherine O'Hara dies aged 71.

Catherine O'Hara's Management has confirmed that the star has died aged 71. The cause of her death has not been revealed.

A statement from Creative Artists Agency says: "Prolific multi-award-winning actress, writer, and comedian Catherine O’Hara died today at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness."

"O’Hara is survived by her husband Bo Welch and sons Matthew and Luke, along with siblings Michael O’Hara, Mary Margaret O’Hara, Maureen Jolley, Marcus O‘Hara, Tom O’Hara, Patricia Wallice," 

The agency have released no details of her brief illness. 


O'Hara has had a hugely varied caeer staring in films such as Beetlejuice, and also appeared in the 2024 sequel. She was known to many as playing the mother in Home Alone. In recent years she found a new audience in the TV comedy Schitts Creek.
