Thorpe Farm Centre is holding a spooky Halloween Fun Run in October, and raising funds for Butterwick Hospice. Families and runners are invited to sign up for the fun run on Sunday 19th October, with a choice of a 5K or 2K route, with the shorter route designed for children.
Runners are encouraged to dress in Halloween themed costumes, with prizes being awarded for the best dressed runners. The entry fee of £2 per runner will be donated to Butterwick Hospice, the providers of care for those with life limiting illnesses, and their families, across Teesside and County Durham.
Harvey Barkes of Thorpe Farm Centre commented: “Our Halloween Fun Run is going to be a great fun family event for all, whether you’re aiming for the podium or just joining in for the fun and the fundraising. We’ll be installing some themed tricks and games around the course too to add to the spooky Halloween feel.
“We’re really pleased we can support Butterwick Hospice in this way. Butterwick helps many families in this area when they are going through the hardest of times. On the day of the run it will be all about having fun, but the money raised can then make a difference in the future.”
Helen Shaw, Senior Fundraiser for Butterwick Hospice, added: “This is a wonderful way to have fun, challenge yourself and make a huge difference to people from across our community who are facing life-limiting illness. We’re really grateful to the team at Thorpe Farm Centre, and several of us are looking forward to dressing up and joining the fun on the day.”
