Santa is set to join firefighters on a magical fire engine tour of County Durham and Darlington this Christmas. Firefighters from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) are putting on their annual Santa On Tour event to spread festive cheer to families and raise funds for charity.
The three-day event will be held on Monday, December 15, Tuesday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 17.
It will see Santa join firefighters on their fire engine and visit different fire stations and supermarkets across the Service area.
Now in its fifth year, the hugely popular event has previously attracted large crowds hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa before the big day.
CDDFRS hopes to raise as much as possible for The Fire Fighters Charity from the festive celebration.
The charity provides life-long care and support to all serving and retired members of the UK's fire family.
Durham Firefighter Connor McCabe is organising the Santa On Tour event along with Station Manager Wayne Thompson.
He said: “The Santa On Tour event is one of the highlights of our year and it is great to see the smiles on children’s faces when we arrive with Santa on the fire engine!
“We hope to raise as much as possible for The Fire Fighters Charity from the event which makes a real difference to the lives of our firefighters.
“We hope to see you at one of the locations on the tour!”
