West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher will be appearing as Durham Cathedral in October as part of her UK tour. She will be visiting 13 venues around the UK, including Durham Cathedral and the Cadogan Hall in London.
Fletcher, who found fame on Youtube as a teenager, has had a hugely sucsessful musical theatre career. She has appeared in Les Miserables, Heathers, Calamity Jane, and will be playing the role of Jenna in the UK tour of Waitress in 2026. She is also an author and has released a number of ficton and non-fiction books.
The evening will feature music and storytelling. According to the show website, Carrie will "guide audiences on a journey through the pasts of some of the UK’s most iconic stages, revealing the hidden histories and spirits that hide behind the curtain. The stoic stillness and majestic architecture of these hallowed cathedrals provides the perfect backdrop for Carrie’s astonishing voice."
The Ghost Light Tour opens at Lichfield Cathedral on 8 October, followed by dates at Llandaff Cathedral on 9 October, Coventry Cathedral on 10 October, Stoke Minster on 16 October, Carlisle Cathedral on 17 October, Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow on 21 October, Durham Cathedral on 22 October, Worcester Cathedral on 23 October and Cadogan Hall on 24 October.
Northern will run a service along a heritage railway line for the first time, to raise money for charity.
Tickets are now on sale for the service, which will set off from Darlington station on Sunday, 22 February and complete a return trip along Weardale Railway before heading back to Darlington.
