After a period of profound change, Polyvinyl are returning to the stage with "Polyvinyl: The Comeback Special." This one-night-only, immersive event will take place at the celebrated Three Tanners Bank in North Shields on Saturday, 6th December, marking the public debut of their new, expanded 6-piece lineup.
The show, themed around the iconic Elvis '68 Comeback Special, is a powerful statement of rebirth. Following the departure of two members earlier this year, the band channeled their hardworking ethos away from the stage and into their community, completing a 12-hour, 30+ mile trek of the entire Tyne & Wear Metro line and the Great North Run, raising significant funds for the Red Sky Foundation in memory
of their late friend.
Now, the band have re-emerged stronger than ever, promising to elevate Polyvinyl's already ambitious "music as an experience" philosophy.
Known for their critically-acclaimed 2023 concept EP, "Closure", and previous live shows featuring caricatural hosts and bespoke set design, "Polyvinyl: The Comeback Special" will assuredly be a theatrical, and career-spanning performance, marking the first chance for fans to hear the unique, varied discography performed by the new, fuller lineup.
"This year has been a total rebuild," says drummer Jamie. "When the lineup shifted, we poured our energy into the charity work, which was incredibly important to us. That experience reinforced what this band is about - community and connection. It gave us a new creative focus, and this show is the direct result of that. We're back, we're bigger than ever, and we've never been more excited to show people
what Polyvinyl is now."
Tickets for "Polyvinyl: The Comeback Special" are £12 and go on sale tomorrow, October 27th, at 12PM GMT, available exclusively at: https://fatso.ma/2Hoy. Special guests to be announced soon. This event is not just a gig; it's the beginning of Polyvinyl's most ambitious chapter yet.
