Computer-generated images have been released to show what Bellway’s new developments at Sniperley Park will look like. Bellway is building 368 properties at DH1 and The Green at DH1, part of the planned 1,900-home garden neighbourhood on the north-western edge of Durham.
The new images show street scenes and house types that are planned – a mix of 276 properties for private sale by Bellway and Bellway’s Ashberry Homes brand, alongside 92 affordable homes. All of the homes will be heated by energy-efficient air source heat pumps.
More than 1,400 people have registered an interest in the developments, and an information day was held at the Ramside Hall Hotel, near Durham, to showcase the plans.
Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Bellway’s North East division – which is building 179 homes at Bellway’s DH1 development – said: “Our information day was a great success and there is a high level of interest in these new homes as shown by the hundreds of people who have already registered to find out more.”
DH1 will feature two, three, four and five-bedroom properties from Bellway’s Artisan Collection. Four existing 19th century farm buildings on site will be retained and converted into new homes.
All the properties will have either a garage or parking space and some of the homes will be designated as First Homes for first-time buyers.
Two-thirds of the homes at DH1 are part of Bellway’s ‘Life’ collection which include design features to make them more accessible and adaptable. These include step-free access, wider hallways and doorways, clear access zones around windows and beds and a more spacious downstairs cloakroom that could be converted to a shower room in the future if required.
Emma said: “DH1 enjoys a very attractive location just a few miles from the centre of Durham, while the sustainable homes we are building feature the latest energy-efficient building techniques and technology. With a high proportion of homes from our ‘Life’ collection this is an inclusive, accessible and welcoming development.”
Bellway’s Durham division is building 189 properties under the Ashberry Homes brand at The Green at DH1, with a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale.
Bellway Durham Sales Manager Gillian Bell said: “Our information day showed visitors what to expect from The Green at DH1 and this has already generated significant interest.
“The Green at DH1 features lots of open space and all of the homes will be heated using highly energy-efficient air source heat pumps, which is all part of making this a sustainable neighbourhood.”
