Shocking scenes have emerged of many Durham University students camping through the night to be able to secure a student property for the next academic year. Students queded outside a local Durham estate agent, to be in with a chance of obtaining property once the branch opened in the morning.
There is reportedly a major housing crisis that is occurring in Durham, with the rental prices for student housing drastically rising and the number of available student properties not meeting the increasing level of demand from students. Evidently, this is leaving many students in a very desperate situation.
